Halifax Installation for Mac Users

Halifax don’t have a sofware that runs in Mac at the moment.

Which means to run Halifax on your Mac you will need to go for one of the following options:

OPTION 1:

Install and Run Bootcamp on your Mac.  Bootcamp is a software that allows you to boot up with Windows on your Mac, which means you will 2 operating systems running on your Mac, and you can only run one of it at any one time.

There is no additional cost (if you already have a Windows license) but there will be inconveniences because you have to partition your hard disk to run 2 operating systems and can only work with one at a time.

To enable Bootcamp please read and follow instructions here:

OPTION 2:

Install an “emulator” software on your Mac.

You will need to pay for a license to use this.  You will enjoy the convenience of using both Operating Systems at the same time – switching between both at ease.

The 2 recommended emulators are:

Price about USD80

VMware Fusion

Price about USD50

Both are good and stable products.

There are also some free-ware versions out there if you are brave enough to explore on your own – although we have not found one that worked with Halifax.

Note that you will need to have a Windows installation CD / software available.  The same license from your Windows PC/laptop can be used if you have one (else you need to purchase a Windows license as well)
